East Coast Construction N.E Ltd acknowledges that we work in a high risk industry. We have a very detailed and structured Health and Safety Management System to ensure we sufficiently manage all known risks to our employees and the general public, so far as reasonably practicable.

 

We are pleased to have gained CHAS Elite status. CHAS is a nationally recognised body that assesses the health and safety policies, procedures, and compliance of contractors in the construction industry. The scheme aims to improve performance in the sector and sets an industry benchmark for excellence.

The Elite accreditation is the most comprehensive programme offered by CHAS, with its members needing to comply with 13 areas of risk management, demonstrating the company’s commitment to the highest standards. The areas of focus include health and safety policy, environmental best practice, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We are also SMAS accredited. 

 

East Coast Construction has it's own dedicated in-house Health & Safety Department. Including a NEBOSH degree qualified director with over 15 years experience in the industry, and a NEBOSH & IOSH qualified Health & Safety Advisor. We also utilise external health & safety auditors.

We use a state-of-the-art induction app; Sitemate, and its sister software, Dashpivot to ensure our health & safety practices are easily accessible on-site and streamlined for both managers and operatives.

We have also implemented a unique QR Coding system for operative & plant certificates as well as user manuals and guidance for systems, plant and tools.
